The area offers excellent access to the coast and the mountains, with outstanding natural beauty to be explored along very quiet roads and well marked walking routes. It is an area of wonderful contrasts, for example, last March we were on the beach one day and skiing the next!
The climate here is excellent, we average 7C higher ech day than the south of England which means summmer daytime high average of just under 30C, and usually about 20C at beginning of November.
THE NEAREST TOWNS:
Historic MONEIN with its fabulous cathedral-like church and old market place (5 mins) and NAVARRENX ancient walled bastide (10 mins) both provide restaurants, local shops, supermarkets and banks.
PAU with its elegant boulevards (25min), wonderful views of the Pyrenees, ancient chateau quarter along with many vibrant cafes and restaurants.
ANCIENT TOWNS on the Chemin de St Jacques de Campostelle route - St Jean Pied Port, Sauveterre
Jaca in SPAIN (1.5 hours)ancient citadel town, lots of restaurants for lunch
