OUR PHILOSOPHY

We love travelling and exploring beautiful places. We decided to buy in this region as it offers so much. We found this old, majestic, stone farmhouse in 2002 after much searching. Parts of the building are as early as the late 1600's and old records show its owners back in 1800 were wealthy and owned a large amount of land. However their fortunes changed and much of the land and their houses were sold off, thus today we have just the two adjoining houses, small wooden barns and four acres.
The extensive renovations took a bit longer than planned, but it gave us time to figure out how to make the best possible of this old building. We were keen to ensure the renovations were sympathetic and used local, traditional techniques wherever possible, as well as affording guests a high degree of comfort.
We have ensured all the bedrooms are a good size with nice well fitted bathrooms, the beds have good quality new mattresses and the decoration and furnishings are a very good standard. There are large gardens plus a small wooded area and a field and no road noise from a busy road, despite being close to amenities.

Leigh is a keen golfer and would be delighted to advise on the many excellent courses. Gillian worked in the UK as a chef in a busy pub-restaurant and loves finding excellent regional produce for guests to sample.

We supply a file on good ideas for trips out. We live in the adjoining property (and have our own courtyard and garden) but are available, if needed.
